The Bridge Academy Summer Workshop is unlike anything else available in Brussels.
Our team of theatre professionals will enable you to dive into building a character, put you through your paces in dance, and get you to reach new heights in your singing.
We didn't just want to bring you professional-quality acting, singing and dancing. At The Bridge, we aspire to go further.
That is why we will be providing exclusive puppet masterclasses by a former cast member of Avenue Q, plus the chance to learn some stage combat skills, taught by a fight choreographer who teach film and stage stars!
Our Summer Workshop costs €279. This works out at just under €56 per day.
A deposit of €100 is required upon registration, with the balance payable by 31 July 2021.

Naturally, we will adhere to the Covid restrictions in Belgium as they are at the time of the event.
If Covid-related restrictions make it impossible to run the Workshop, you will be refunded in full. If your child is unexpectedly required to enter self-isolation, we will also provide a full refund.

Alex trained at Bristol University and VGIK (Moscow). He was the resident director at the National Theatre in 2017 and nominated as best director in the 2020 Stage Debut awards.
Work as director and adaptor includes Preludes and The Night Before Christmas (Southwark Playhouse), Our House, Cry Baby, Rouges & Rebles (Leicester Curve), Twelfth Night (Parkteatern, Stockholm), A Flea in her Ear (Chiswick Playhouse), My Swordhand is Singing (Festival of Stories, London) and The Crocodile / Orpheus and Euridice (Tete-a-tete:the opera festival).
Alex's has developed several projects including new musicals and plays at the National theatre new work department (including the 2019 Olivier award winning Flesh & Bone), a dance project with the Barbican and on several plays with the Young Vic. Alex has previously assisted Simon McBurney, Peter Gill, Melly Still, Lonny Price and Laurent Pelly at places such as the Barbican, NT, Royal Opera House, ENO and Sadlers Wells.
Eamonn O’Dwyer is an award-winning composer, musical director and an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music. He has worked as a musician, composer and sound designer in theatres all over the world.
Among his many credits, Eamonn has written original music for the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Old Vic and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, the Chichester Festival Theatre and Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre in York. He is a frequent musical collaborator at the Rose Theatre in Kingston, where he has written original songs and scores for The Snow Queen, Hansel & Gretel, The Wind in the Willows, The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, A Christmas Carol & Arabian Nights.
The score for his original musical The House of Mirrors & Hearts won the MTM Award for Best New Score at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010, and after its critically acclaimed run at the Arcola Theatre in 2015 has now been performed in Australia and the US. Eamonn’s musicals The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Mrs Beeton Says… are published and available for licensing through Concord Theatricals Ltd.
Bex trained in Musical Theatre at The BRIT School and Millennium Performing Arts. Her most recent credits include Associate Choreographer on the West End and International Tour of The Gruffalo and working as the Assistant Choreographer on Series 6 of Swashbuckle and Sing with CBeebies. Last Christmas, Bex featured as Elf Pizazz on the interactive app Santa HQ and also as the presenter on the M&S Mr Men kids range social media advert.
Bex’s performance credits also include: contracts as a Production Show Dancer on Princess Cruises. She has also worked extensively in the Character and Parade Department at Disneyland Paris, taking on multiple title roles as well as appearing in adverts for the Disney Channel. In 2020, Bex appeared as Agent Jones ‘Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D’ in Disney’s Festive Celebration Film.
Other credits include: the workshop production of 'Pretty Woman The Musical' in London and dancing in music videos for Jessie J, Gabz and The Saturdays. She has also toured as the Magician's Assistant in a UK theatrical Illusion Show and she has performed in 6 pantomimes with Imagine Theatre. In 2014, Bex appeared as a featured dancer in the film ‘Far From the Madding Crowd' and also doubled for the lead actress Carey Mulligan.
Jess trained at ArtsEd London, graduating with 1st Class BA (HONS) in Musical Theatre. As a performer, her credits include numerous West End, UK & International Tours – including ‘Kiss Me Kate’, ‘Evita’, ‘Seussical’ and ‘Avenue Q’. Jess has been part of the ‘Avenue Q’ UK/International team consistently since 2014. Jess became Resident Director of the show whilst on tour, and most recently was Associate Director for the 2019/20 UK Tour.
Jess now works as a Creative Associate in the Theatre Industry, as well as a Puppet Director for
productions, and is the Creator and Founder of Parker Puppetry. Parker Puppetry was founded during the 2020 lockdown and is born from realising how important it is that people get the chance to learn the basic skills of Hand & Rod Puppetry, as well as it being incredible for
mental health and motor-skills, especially for children. Utilising her many years Teaching, Directing, and Performing, Jess has created her own syllabus for the
art form and is proud to be spreading the joy of Hand & Rod Puppetry to more people around the UK and
Lisa trained at The Guildford School of Acting. After this, she trained to become a Combat Instructor and now works on behalf of The Academy of Performance Combat teaching regularly at Northampton University, PPA (Performance Preparation Academy) and with the Take3 action team in London.

The Summer Workshop is five days of incredible performing arts tuition in English. Between 9.30am and 5.30pm, young people will have tuition in singing, acting and dance from leading theatre professionals, based in the UK. All of our tutors have a police background check. Each day will begin at 9.30am sharp, so please make sure your child arrives on time.
Each day will include a one-hour supervised lunch break. Adults will be present at all times. Please note that we do not provide food.
The week will end with a performance of ca. 1 hour. The performance will take place at the Pianofabriek at 16.00 on the final Friday. Parents and friends are welcome to attend! Guests are limited to two per child for the moment. After the performance, there is a chance to say goodbye to new friends at our farewell party.
Groups will be no larger than 20 people to ensure everyone receives sufficient attention and tuition. Groups will be mixed ages, although we will tend to group seniors with seniors and juniors with juniors.
Our Summer Workshop will be run in English. However, we welcome a mix of language backgrounds and we understand that each child will have a different confidence level in English. All of our tutors are super friendly and understanding of this. Should you have any concerns about the level of your child's English, please do get in contact.
