23 September - 21 October
with Rozana
The magic of theatre lies in the atmosphere it creates on stage. All the little details from lights to decor, from music to silences, fit so well together and make us utterly mesmerized. Yes, the lines are important, but they would sound so empty without everything else.
We can have that quiet magic in improvisational theatre too, this form of art that relies so much on words. Once we put aside the verbal, a world of infinite possibilities will open up. The aim of this bubble, is to encourage the improvisers to step out of the comfort of the 'Talking' and step into the least-explored 'Doing' and ' Being' with the help of various exercises that involve body work, rhythm, space, listening, emotions, connection etc.

Some of the best moments on an improv stage aren't the funny ones, but the quiet ones, where a character just experiences something real, and we believe it.
This Bubble is designed to encourage you to explore new possibilities.
If you enjoy improv but feel you're missing some drama training, this is your chance to push yourself out of your
comfort zone.
An audience loves to see humanity in all its complexities, messiness and wonder. So let's see what we can uncover together!

We miss love.
In improv shows... Don't you?
Would you like to play truthful scenes in which you are genuinely loving the other character? Without the urgent need to make a joke or have a fight? That is the plan.
In this workshop we invite you to open your heart in order to open your character's heart, on stage. Be brave enough to truthfully say "I love you" in an improvised story, and use contact, with consent and care. Slow down and offer touching moments of love, be it romantic, friendly, or family-related.
"There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved." - George Sand

Irene Monari started improvising in 2019, mainly as an escape from the cult of “perfect notes” she was living in as a classical musician. It worked a little too well: she never really went back.
Trained as a professional musician (Master of Arts in Trumpet), she later specialised in cultural management, with a focus on cultural mediation, and spent several years working in the education department at La Monnaie Opera House, before fully surrendering to the joy of not knowing what comes next on stage.
Since her first class, she has explored both long-form and short-form improvisation through regular training, classes, and workshops, as well as performing in French-speaking improv teams. She also took a brief detour to Italy, where she discovered that improv works (and hurts) in her native language too.
When funds allow, she continues to feed her improv addiction through masterclasses and projects.
She has performed in several Improbubble Academy productions, including Couples’ Retreat, directed by Rozana Radu, and Midnight Library by Ben Verhoeven.

Rozana Radu is Belgian-Romanian professional actor, improviser and trainer. After working in Romania's cultural scene for more than 15 years doing theatre, film, television and improvisation, she moved to Belgium and joined ImproBubble, a professional school of improvised art. Alongside her colleagues, she is on a mission to bring this art in all its forms to Brussels and...beyond. She is also a part of La Compagnie qui Petille, a french based theatre company, who tackles with strong, impactful social subjects on stage. Last but not least, Rozana is a regular cast member of The Schuman Show, Brussel's most popular sketch comedy production who portrays daring and accute political issues with humor and wit.

Sara van der Zande (also known as Sara de Sable) is a Dutch/English theatrical improviser, community artist and social worker living and working in Brussels.
She studied Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, but always experimented with the performative elements of visual arts, and with her own body as visual material. She is a professionally active improviser in and around Brussels, and teaches improv and art in the socio-artistic sector.
Sara is part of several international improv teams and shows, and also often hosts improv jams.
She has made several visual site-specific/interactive installations in public space over the last thirteen years, and teaches improv to youngsters, kids, and people who are learning Dutch.
With a love of authentic, physical, quirky and vulnerable improv, she is not afraid to show herself on stage and invite you into her universe.

Peggy is an improv director, performer and teacher, born in the French Alps. After graduating from the Kleine Academie (Jacques Lecoq) and Cours Florent, she worked in cinema and scripted theatre, until she fell in love with improv in 2013. She is the founder of La compagnie qui pétille, a professional theatre company based in Brussels which creates shows fueled by emotions and connection, like “Secret Garden”, and also addresses society issues through improv and Forum-Theatre. She is the author of “The Guide for improvisers who want to change the world”.
Since 2020, she performs with the international cast of ImproBubble and travels over Europe, playing and teaching in French, English, Italian and Spanish, in Festivals (Lyon, Amsterdam, Torino, Barcelona, Lausanne, Luxembourg, Paris...).
After 12 years of improv, she is still fascinated by every story offering a journey that is both highly emotional, and highly funny.

Michelle trained at the University of Cape Town. She has had a joyous career on stage and screen, with highlights including playing Mrs de Kok in the 2013 film Long Walk to Freedom, and getting to walk the red carpet at Cannes after playing Elena in the award-winning South African film, Skoonheid (Beauty).
